Conyers  Witness

This photograph was taken at noon on July 31, 2004, the first time we visited The Farm at Conyers.  We sat before the large white statue of Our Loving Mother and saw a face that was almost void of features.  It was a very long, rough, chiseled, not very pretty face.  I remember saying to my husband, and he remembers my saying it, "Why would they put such a face on the Mother of God?  Her face should be beautiful."  As you can see from the first photograph that we took, it also reflects that nearly featureless face.

This photograph was taken at about 10:00 AM on October 12, 2004, the day before Our Lady's anniversary.  We still did not see this face on the statue when we looked at it.  We only saw this beautiful face when we viewed this digital photograph later.  It was not until our next trip to Conyers that we saw this face in person on the statue.

This photograph was taken at about 8:00 AM on the day of Our Lady's anniversary, October 13, 2004.  The face appears sad, to the point of crying.  We did not see this face with our eyes, only in the photograph.

commentary:
From the messages given to the world at Conyers, we are reminded, like the faces on the statue, and like the disciples in Luke 24: 13-36, on the way to Emmaus, our vision is veiled.  We may not be allowed to see Jesus and Mary with our eyes, at Conyers, or next to us as we pray, but They are there.  We are not allowed to see the Real Presence in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist, but He is there.  Pray for greater faith and believe.
